January 13th 2026

January 13, 2026

These are photos I’ve taken since January 1st 2026.

We started the year with a flurry of snow in the first week.

I love the way one of the trees has bowed over the pathway creating an archway to walk under. It makes me slow down at that section and take a little bow myself.

I have noticed the hawthorn berries are scattered over the path and have very clearly been enjoyed by some animal or bird! It looks like the remnants of a feast!

The earth and leaves under my feet are damp but not sticky or slippery. In fact the leaves provide a kind of non slip surface to walk across the muddy bits. The colours are dark and rich, even on dull murky days. Most this year have been bright and sunny though.
