Deep Encounters - a multifaceted mapping of a small piece of land

Deep Encounters is a collaborative project initiated by artist Janette Kerr and including Zoe Ashbrook , Ruth Broadbent, Alison Berrett, Sara Dudman, Ffin(vc Price), Tamsin Grainger, Richard Keating, Melinda Hunt, Janette Kerr, Rachel McDonnell, Amanda Steer, Sally Stenton, Molly Wagner.

Each artist will be focussing on a small area of land chosen by themselves. The project will initially run throughout 2026. Artists are internationally located and meeting regularly to share and develop their work.

I will use this space to record photos, drawings, notes and writings as the project progresses.

My chosen space is a narrow pathway that runs alongside the field where I walk my dog most mornings. It has become a place I have grown to love because of the way the light falls through the trees, the birdsong is clear and the changing of seasons is very noticeable.
